What is a good reach rate?

Reach rate is a moving target that shrinks exactly as your account succeeds.

There is no universal good reach rate. Reach rate — how many people saw a post relative to your followers — naturally falls as you gain followers, and it swings by format (reels reach far past your following; static posts often stay closer to it). So a "good" number for a 1,000-follower account looks nothing like one for a 100,000-follower account. The sharper measure is how far a post beats your own baseline, which stays meaningful as you grow.

Posteriks finds posts that beat their own account baseline in your niche and helps you build your own version — not a copy. Check your own post free →

Use reach rate as a loose trend line, not a target. To judge whether a specific post worked, compare it to your baseline — that does not decay as your following grows.

Whatever the metric, the fix is the same: find what already beats the baseline in your niche and rebuild it. See viral posts by topic or test a post in the Baseline Beat Checker. More in Answers.

FAQ

Why does my reach rate keep falling?

Mostly because your follower count is rising faster than reach — normal as you grow. Track the baseline multiple instead of the rate.
