Stories are in the program
Meta's creators page lists the formats plainly: with Facebook Content Monetization you earn on reels, photos, text posts and stories. One program, one enrolment, four formats. Payouts are performance-based — you are paid on views and engagement your eligible public content receives, not per upload.
Meta has also said that reels take about 60% of what it pays creators, and the remaining share goes to stories, photos and text posts. That remaining share is money paid to pages that publish more than one format.
What earns and what does not
- Public content. Earnings come from eligible public content; a story shared to a limited audience is not the same thing.
- Qualified views. Meta counts views that may be eligible to earn — not every impression is treated the same.
- Original material. Reposted stories, other apps' watermarks and screen-recorded clips fall under non-original content: distribution is cut and monetization can be removed.
Where to check what your stories earned
- Open the Professional dashboard (Meta Business Suite on desktop).
- Go to the Monetization section and open earnings insights.
- Look at the breakdown by content type. If stories show nothing, it is usually because the page publishes none.
