How much of your reach comes from your top posts?
Almost all of it. A handful of posts do nearly all the work.

Most people assume engagement is spread fairly evenly across their posts. It isn't. Across our study of 19,624 posts, a tiny share of posts captured almost all of the reach:
| Share of posts | Share of all engagement |
|---|---|
| Top 1% | 71% |
| Top 5% | 88% |
| Top 10% | 93% |
| Top 20% | 97% |
The bottom 80% of posts together add up to about 3% of engagement. The practical takeaway: one breakout is worth more than a month of average posts, so it pays to raise your hit-rate rather than your post count. FAQ
Why do so few posts get most of the reach?
Social distribution rewards early engagement, so the small set of posts that beat their baseline get pushed to far more people — compounding into most of the total.
Does this mean my average posts are wasted?
No — they keep the page alive and feed the algorithm. But they won't drive growth; the outliers do, so the goal is to produce more of them.
