Do most Facebook posts flop?

Most posts land at your median — which is normal, not failure.

It depends what you call a flop. By design, half of all posts perform at or below their page's median, and that's expected — not a failure. In an aggregate study of 19,624 posts, the typical post did about 1.0x its baseline, the top 25% cleared 1.8x, and only the top 10% got past 3.9x. Breakouts are rare, so a post landing near your median is normal behaviour, not a sign something's wrong.
